Better for Newcomers
Unlocking Opportunities, Embracing Diversity: Bill 203 Paves the Way for Recognition Excellence in Alberta!
When it comes to recognizing foreign credentials, Alberta has done some very good work, but we can still do more. I have introduced Bill 203, the Foreign Credential Advisory Committee Act, to create a more streamlined and efficient credential advisory system. This Bill, if passed, would make life better for newcomers, now and for generations to come.

What does Bill 203 do?
Bill 203 represents a significant step forward for Alberta with the creation of the Alberta Foreign Credential Advisory Committee. This Committee would make recommendations to create a more streamlined and efficient credential advisory system.
By reviewing and potentially reforming the regulations surrounding the recognition of foreign credentials, particularly in professions facing labour shortages, this committee would improve the way Alberta integrates skilled newcomers into the provincial workforce.
Ultimately, Bill 203 promises to position Alberta as a leader in recognizing and harnessing the potential of diverse newcomers, bolstering the province’s competitiveness and economic growth for generations to come.
